Thank you for your interest in donating breast milk!

At Mothers’ Milk Bank, we make the donation process as easy as possible, while still following all the right procedures to ensure the milk is safe for life’s most fragile infants. Take a look at our easy six-step process below. If you have any questions along the way, give us a call at 303-869-1888 or toll-free 833-234-0555.

Please be aware that the donor approval process typically takes about 2-3 weeks to complete.

The Donation Process

1. Fill out the Donor Interest Form.
Estimated time: 5 minutes

We’ll ask a few basic questions before sending additional information to review before your screening call. The form works best with Chrome, Firefox, or Safari browsers.

2. Call us at 303-869-1888
Estimated time: 10-15 minutes

After reviewing the initial information, you’ll be guided through a verbal screening to determine eligibility, answer any questions you may have, and discuss next steps.

3. Submit the Donor Screening Form
Estimated time: 10-15 minutes

Our detailed online screening form will ask important questions about your medical history, medications, and more. By gathering this information, we can confirm that donation is the right option for you and your family.

4. Review by Mothers’ Milk Bank
Estimated time: 7 business days

Milk bank staff reviews the screening form and sends required forms to your doctor for approval.

5. Complete bloodwork
Estimated time: 30 minutes (plus a few days for lab processing)

Visit a lab facility or healthcare provider near you to complete blood work. These tests help us screen for any potential infections that may impact the milk.

6. Begin donating!
Estimated Time: The whole approval process typically takes about 2-3 weeks to complete.

Once you are approved, you can start donating immediately. Drop your milk off at the milk bank or one of our convenient Milk Depots, ship it via FedEx, or have a courier pick up your milk. We provide supplies and cover costs to make it easy as pie.
